The sauce

  • 1 tablespoon flour mixture
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons capers

Instructions

  1. Slice the chicken breasts in half lengthwise to create cutlets and pound them to ½-inch thickness.
  2. Mix the flour, garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning in a bowl, reserving 1 tablespoon for later.
  3. Dredge the chicken cutlets in the flour mixture, ensuring they are fully covered.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken cutlets for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  6. Deglaze the pan with white wine, scraping up the brown bits.
  7. Add the reserved flour mixture to the pan and whisk until it thickens.
  8. Stir in the chicken broth, lemon juice, and capers, then remove from heat.
  9. Pour the sauce over the chicken and serve.
