Ingredients

  • cup chickpeas
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 medium jalapeño
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • as needed ice water to thin

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor or high-power blender.
  2. Blend until smooth, leaving some jalapeño bits if desired.
  3. If the hummus is too thick, add ice water one tablespoon at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
  4. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4-5 days or freeze for later use.
