Strawberry Scones

dried strawberries (diced or other dried fruit of your choice)

toasted pecans (chopped or other nut or additional dried fruit of your choice)
The egg wash

Instructions
- Freeze the butter for 1 hour and preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Beat the egg and cream together in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Grate the frozen butter into the flour mixture and combine.
- Pour the egg mixture over the flour-butter mixture and stir to combine.
- Fold in the dried strawberries and pecans.
- Divide the dough into two balls, pat into rounds, and slice each into 6 wedges.
- Transfer scones to a baking sheet and brush with egg wash.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown.
