Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

Wet Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons cold butter, cut into pieces
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • ¼ cup vanilla yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon grated lemon zest
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract

Fruits and Toppings

  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries
  • 2 tablespoons coarse sugar, for sprinkling on top

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare a baking sheet.
  2. Whisk together the dry ingredients in a bowl, then add the cold butter and mix until crumbly.
  3. Gently fold in the frozen mixed berries.
  4. In another bowl, combine the eggs, yogurt, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and almond extract.
  5. Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
  6. Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each scoop.
  7. Brush the tops with milk or cream and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
  8. Bake for 20 to 24 minutes until lightly browned and a tester comes out clean.
  9. Serve warm or reheat as needed.
