The herb butter

minced garlic

minced thyme leaves

Instructions
- Preheat an electric smoker to 250 degrees F and load it with cherry or apple wood.
- In a bowl, combine butter, garlic, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
- Rub the herb butter all over the prime rib roast.
- Place the roast in a disposable aluminum pan.
- Put the roast in the smoker and cook until the desired doneness is reached (around 125 degrees F for medium rare).
- Remove the roast from the smoker and cover it with foil, letting it rest for 15 minutes.
- After resting, remove the bones and slice the roast into steaks to serve.
