Hibachi Steak

Ingredients

The steak

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 pounds steak (strip, sirloin, or rib-eye)
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

The vegetables

  • 2 zucchini zucchini
  • 1 large onion
  • 8 ounces mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons mirin

Instructions

  1. Combine soy sauce, melted butter, and minced garlic in a small bowl and set aside.
  2. Season steak pieces with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a wok or skillet on medium-high heat and add avocado oil.
  4. Add the seasoned steak to the pan and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring for even browning.
  5. Drizzle sesame oil over the steak and cook for an additional minute, then spoon half of the soy butter mixture over the steak and let it melt.
  6. Remove the steak from the heat and transfer it to a serving dish.
  7. Add sliced zucchini, onion, and mushrooms to the cooking surface, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 5 minutes, stirring once.
  8. Pour in mirin and the remaining soy butter, and cook for another 2 minutes.
  9. Serve warm with Hibachi fried rice.
