Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a muffin pan with paper liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together the cake flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a mixer, cream the sugar and butter until light and fluffy, then add the eggs and vanilla.
- Gradually mix in the flour mixture and alternate with the milk and buttermilk until combined.
- Fold the batter gently to ensure even mixing.
- Fill the muffin cups about ⅔ full with batter.
- Bake for 17 to 22 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the frosting, cream the unsalted and salted butter until pale, then mix in the powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla until fluffy.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes as desired.
