Ingredients

The Margarita

  • 8 ounces Tequila
  • 6 ounces Grand Marnier
  • 8 ounces lime juice
  • 6 ounces simple syrup

For Serving

  • salt to taste for the rim
  • lime wedges as needed for salt rim and garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the simple syrup by combining ½ cup sugar and ½ cup water in a saucepan and heating until the sugar dissolves. Let it cool.
  2. Juice enough limes to yield 1 cup of freshly squeezed lime juice.
  3. In a 4-cup liquid measure, combine the lime juice, tequila, Grand Marnier, and simple syrup.
  4. Pour salt onto a shallow plate. Rim the glasses with a lime wedge and dip them into the salt.
  5. Fill each glass with ice and pour the margarita mixture over the ice.
  6. Garnish with a squeeze of lime.
