Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350℉.
- Melt the salted butter in the bottom of a 9” x 1 ½” round cake pan.
- Stir in the brown sugar, covering the entire bottom of the pan.
- Arrange peach slices in a single layer over the brown sugar mixture.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together the unsalted butter and sugar.
- Add the egg and almond extract to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture alternately with water, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
- Spread the batter evenly over the peach layer in the pan.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool for 5 minutes before inverting onto a plate.
