Slow Cooker Mississippi Pot Roast

Homemade Ranch Seasoning
Instructions
- Trim excess fat from the chuck roast and rub with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Brown the roast in a frying pan over medium-high heat on both sides.
- Transfer the roast to the slow cooker.
- Deglaze the frying pan with water and beef base, scraping up browned bits, then pour this mixture around the roast in the slow cooker.
- Sprinkle 2 teaspoons of the Homemade Ranch Seasoning over the roast and dot with butter.
- Place the pepperoncini on top of the roast.
- Cook on high for 4-6 hours or on low for 6-8 hours until the roast is tender.
- After cooking, stir in the last teaspoon of Ranch Seasoning into the juices.
