Ingredients

The Salad

  • 1 ¼ lb. Brussels sprouts
  • 1 medium shallot
  • 6 strips bacon
  • cup Deglet Noor dates
  • cup smoked or salted almonds

The Dressing

  • 1 medium lemon
  • ½ small orange
  • 1 Deglet Noor date date
  • 1 clove garlic
  • ½ cup avocado oil or olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Make the dressing by blending all dressing ingredients until smooth.
  2. Place shredded Brussels sprouts in a large bowl.
  3. Add shallots, crumbled bacon, and chopped dates to the bowl and toss to combine.
  4. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss again.
  5. Add almonds just before serving and toss well to combine.
