Ingredients

The stir fry

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1 inch pieces

  • 1 lb asparagus stalks, trimmed and cut into 1 ½ inch pieces
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger

The sauce

  • ¾ cup chicken broth
  • 1 ½ teaspoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the chicken with salt and pepper, then add it to the pan in a single layer and cook until browned.
  3. Add the asparagus to the pan and cook until tender.
  4. Stir in the garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional 30 seconds.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch.
  6. Pour the sauce over the chicken and asparagus, bring to a simmer, and cook until the sauce has thickened.
