Ingredients

The pie crust

  • 2 crusts homemade pie crust

The filling

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 6 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • teaspoon ground allspice
  • 3 cups sliced, peeled fresh peaches
  • cups fresh blueberries
  • 1 Tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 egg beaten

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pie crust according to the recipe up to step 5.
  2. Make the filling by mixing sugar, flour, cinnamon, and allspice in a bowl, then fold in the peaches and blueberries.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C).
  4. Roll out one disc of chilled dough into a circle and place it in a 9-inch pie dish, then fill with the fruit mixture and dot with butter.
  5. Roll out the second disc of dough, cut into strips, and arrange them in a lattice pattern over the filling.
  6. Brush the lattice with beaten egg and sprinkle with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 375°F (190°C) and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes.
  8. Let the pie cool for 4 hours before serving.
