Honey Teriyaki Drumsticks

Ingredients

The marinade

  • ¼ cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp rice wine
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 1 tsp sriracha (optional)

The chicken

  • 8 pieces drumsticks, skin removed

The garnish

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • to taste chopped scallions

Instructions

  1. Combine soy sauce, rice wine, honey, garlic, ginger, and sriracha in a skillet and cook on medium-low for about 2 minutes.
  2. Add the chicken and cook for 5 minutes, covered.
  3. Turn the chicken, cover, and cook for 20 minutes on medium-low.
  4. Turn again, cover, and cook for another 15 minutes until the chicken is very tender.
  5. If the sauce isn't thick, simmer uncovered for about 2 minutes.
  6. Finish with scallions and sesame seeds.
  7. For Instant Pot, sauté the marinade ingredients, add chicken, cover, and cook on high pressure for 15-20 minutes.
