Asian Glazed Chicken Drumsticks

Ingredients

The chicken

  • 8 medium chicken drumsticks, skin removed

The marinade

  • ¾ cup water
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • cup balsamic vinegar
  • cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey or sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated

The garnish

  • 2 tbsp chives or scallions, chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

Cooking oil

  • to taste none olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. 1. Brown the chicken in a heavy large saucepan with olive oil spray for 3-4 minutes.
  2. 2. Add water, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and sriracha; bring to a boil.
  3. 3. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for about 20 minutes.
  4. 4. Remove the cover, increase heat to high, and reduce the sauce for 8-10 minutes until thickened, turning the chicken occasionally.
  5. 5. Transfer the chicken to a platter, pour the sauce over it, and garnish with chives and sesame seeds.
