Ingredients

Sambal Paste

  • 6 oz fresh red chilies
  • 1 tablespoon toasted belacan
  • 4 oz shallots
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons fish sauce
  • 4 tablespoons oil

Sambal Telur

  • 4 hard boiled eggs
  • 2-3 tablespoons sambal
  • ½ onion cut into rings

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sambal by grinding chilies, shallots, and toasted belacan until smooth.
  2. Heat oil in a wok and sauté the sambal paste.
  3. Add onion rings and mix well.
  4. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
  5. Add hard boiled eggs and mix well.
  6. Transfer to a bowl and serve immediately.
