Spiced Cranberry Hot Toddy

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Cranberry Juice, unsweetened
  • ½ small Orange, pierced several times through rind
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 1 (1-inch) piece Fresh Ginger
  • ½ teaspoon Black Peppercorns
  • ½ teaspoon Whole Cloves
  • 2 Star Anise
  • ¼-½ cup Honey
  • 3-4 ounces Bourbon

Instructions

  1. Combine cranberry juice, orange, cinnamon sticks, ginger, peppercorns, cloves, and star anise in a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat.
  2. Reduce heat to low, partially cover, and let simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and cover completely for a few more minutes.
  3. Strain the mixture back into the pan and stir in honey to taste.
  4. Pour 1 ½ to 2 ounces of bourbon into each glass and top with the hot spiced cranberry juice. Stir and serve hot.
