Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, poppy seeds, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk the egg and sugar together, then mix in the oil, sour cream, milk, lemon juice, and lemon zest.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, covering with foil halfway through if needed.
- Check doneness with a toothpick; if it comes out clean, the bread is done.
- Cool the bread in the pan on a wire rack, then prepare the glaze by whisking together the confectioners’ sugar and lemon juice.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm bread and allow to cool completely before slicing.
