Ingredients

The poke

  • 7 ounce fresh sashimi-grade tuna, cut into bite-size
  • ½ unit yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons furikake
  • ½ teaspoon Japanese chili pepper
  • 2 bowl steamed white rice
  • ¼ cup green onion or scallion, chopped, for garnish

The seasoning sauce

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mirin
  • ½ teaspoon sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Cut the sashimi-grade tuna into bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the tuna cubes, sliced onion, and cucumber.
  3. Sprinkle furikake and Japanese chili pepper over the mixture.
  4. Add soy sauce, mirin, and sesame oil, then gently mix all ingredients together.
  5. Top with chopped green onion and serve immediately over steamed white rice.
