Instructions
- Cut the mozzarella into 3x½" pieces and set up a dredging station with flour, egg mixture, and panko mixture.
- Dredge each piece of mozzarella in flour, dip in the egg mixture, and coat with the panko mixture, pressing to adhere. Repeat for a second coating.
- Place the coated mozzarella on a wire rack and freeze for at least 1 hour.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pot to 350°F using a deep-fry thermometer.
- Fry the mozzarella sticks in batches for 2–2½ minutes until golden brown and crisp.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and season with salt. Serve with spicy marinara sauce.
