Homemade Mozzarella Sticks

Instructions
- Slice the mozzarella into ¾-inch wide sticks, typically 6 inches long.
- In a shallow bowl, combine flour with salt and black pepper.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs with 2 tablespoons of cold water to create an egg wash.
- In a third bowl, add the seasoned breadcrumbs.
- Coat the mozzarella sticks in the flour mixture, shake off excess, then dip in the egg wash.
- Coat the sticks in the breadcrumbs and place them on a wire rack.
- Repeat the coating process until all sticks are prepared, then freeze them uncovered for 1-2 hours.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or Dutch oven to 350-365 degrees F.
- Carefully fry the mozzarella sticks for 3-4 minutes until golden brown, avoiding overcrowding the pan.
- Remove the fried sticks and drain on a wire rack or paper towel.
- Serve with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
