Ingredients

The jello mixture

  • 1 package purple gelatin/jello
  • 3 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 3 cups boiling water
  • ¾ cup whipping cream
  • as needed drops green food coloring

The straws

  • 100+ pieces plastic straws with bendable necks

Instructions

  1. Choose a container that can hold at least 4 cups of liquid and pack the straws tightly in it.
  2. In a heat-safe mixing bowl, stir together the flavored and unflavored gelatin powders.
  3. Pour boiling water over the gelatin and stir until dissolved, then let cool slightly.
  4. Stir in the whipping cream and add green food coloring to achieve desired color.
  5. Place the container of straws in a larger dish to catch spills and gently pour the jello mixture over the straws.
  6. Chill the straws in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours until the jello is set.
  7. Remove the container from the fridge and run warm water over the sides to help extract the straws.
  8. Gently squeeze each straw to push the jello worms out and place them on a tray lined with wax paper.
  9. Refrigerate the worms until ready to serve.
