Pear Puff Pastry Tart

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 ounces shredded spicy cheddar cheese
  • 2-3 pieces ripe Bartlett pears, sliced
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey
  • ¼ cup chopped toasted walnuts
  • to taste flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the puff pastry on the prepared baking sheet and poke holes in it with a fork.
  3. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border, and arrange the sliced pears on top.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk the egg and brush it on the edges of the pastry.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and crisp, then drizzle with honey, sprinkle with walnuts, and add flaky sea salt.
  6. Cut into 9 squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
