Roasted Cauliflower Steak

Ingredients

The cauliflower

  • 1 large head cauliflower

The seasoning

  • 1 to 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • ¼ teaspoon fine salt
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F with a rack in the upper third and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Remove green leaves from the cauliflower and slice off the base for stability.
  3. Slice the cauliflower into 1-inch thick slabs, allowing some florets to fall off.
  4. Brush both sides of the slabs with olive oil and place them on the baking sheet, then sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  5. Roast in the oven for about 30 to 35 minutes until golden on the top and deeply golden underneath.
