Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and butter a 13 by 9-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a mixer, beat together butter and sugar until fluffy, then add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla and almond extracts.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until combined, reserving 1 ½ cups of the batter.
- Spread the remaining batter evenly in the baking dish and top with cherry pie filling.
- Dollop the reserved batter over the cherry filling.
- Bake for 30 to 37 minutes, then cool completely on a wire rack.
- For the glaze, whisk together all ingredients, adding half and half to reach desired consistency.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bars and allow it to set before cutting into squares.
