Cherry Bars with Vanilla Glaze

The glaze

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and coat a 10" x 15" jelly roll pan with cooking spray.
- In a mixer, beat together the butter, sugar, and salt until fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add the flour while mixing on low speed, then stir in the vanilla and almond extracts.
- Spread ⅔ of the dough evenly in the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Spread the cherry pie filling over the dough.
- Drop teaspoon-sized dollops of the remaining dough over the pie filling.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool completely in the pan.
- To make the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla, almond extracts, and milk. Adjust the consistency with more milk if needed.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bars, let it harden, then cut into squares and serve.
