Ingredients

The meat

  • 3 lbs pork shoulder

The seasonings

  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

The sauce

  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup chicken broth (or water)

Instructions

  1. Add the pork shoulder to the crockpot.
  2. Sprinkle the pork with salt, pepper, chili powder, and garlic powder.
  3. Top the pork with BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and chicken broth.
  4. Cook on low for 8-9 hours or high for 5-6 hours until the pork is tender.
  5. Remove the pork from the crockpot and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  6. Shred the pork with two forks and return it to the crockpot, stirring until saucy.
  7. Serve on buns or rolls with desired toppings.
