Instructions
- 1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) if baking.
- 2. Sauté shallots and garlic in oil until soft and translucent.
- 3. Combine sautéed garlic and shallots with chickpeas in a bowl and mash together, leaving some texture.
- 4. Add remaining ingredients to the bowl and mix until a moldable dough forms.
- 5. Divide mixture into 4 patties, packing them firmly.
- 6. Cook patties in the skillet for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
- 7. Optionally, transfer patties to a baking sheet and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes for a firmer texture.
- 8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving with desired toppings.
