Chocolate Hazelnut Spread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup hazelnuts
  • ¼ cup cacao powder
  • 5 tablespoons honey or agave nectar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon hazelnut oil
  • pinch celtic sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and roast hazelnuts for 8-10 minutes until golden and fragrant.
  2. Transfer hazelnuts to a towel and rub off the skins.
  3. In a food processor, grind the hazelnuts for about 5 minutes until they form a smooth butter, scraping the sides as needed.
  4. Add cacao powder, honey, vanilla extract, hazelnut oil, and salt to the food processor and blend until well combined, about 1 minute.
  5. Store the spread in a one quart mason jar in the refrigerator.
  6. Bring to room temperature before serving.
