Chocolate Hazelnut Spread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup hazelnuts
  • ¼ cup cacao powder
  • 5 tablespoons honey or agave nectar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon hazelnut oil
  • pinch celtic sea salt

Instructions

  1. 1. Roast hazelnuts at 350°F for 8-10 minutes until golden and fragrant.
  2. 2. Transfer hazelnuts to a towel and rub off the skins.
  3. 3. In a food processor, grind the hazelnuts for 5 minutes until smooth, scraping the sides as needed.
  4. 4. Add cacao, honey, vanilla, hazelnut oil, and salt, then process until well blended, about 1 minute.
  5. 5. Store in a one quart mason jar in the refrigerator.
  6. 6. Bring to room temperature prior to serving.
