Ingredients

  • cups hazelnuts
  • ¾ cup coconut sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil
  • 6 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF and arrange the hazelnuts on a baking sheet.
  2. Toast the hazelnuts for 10 minutes until their skins begin to crack, then cool and rub them to remove the skins.
  3. Place the peeled hazelnuts in a food processor and blend into a creamy nut butter, scraping down the sides as needed for 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Once smooth, add the coconut sugar, cocoa powder, and coconut oil, and process briefly.
  5. Add ¼ cup of water and blend, adding more water one tablespoon at a time until the desired texture is reached.
  6. Enjoy immediately or transfer to an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
