Easy Vegan Nutella

Ingredients

  • 3 cups raw or roasted unsalted hazelnuts
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • cup dairy-free dark chocolate (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (176°C) and spread hazelnuts on a baking sheet.
  2. Roast raw hazelnuts for 12-15 minutes or roasted ones for 8-10 minutes to warm them up.
  3. Let the hazelnuts cool slightly, then rub them in a towel to remove most of the skins.
  4. Add the hazelnuts to a food processor or high-speed blender and blend on low until a butter forms, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Melt the chocolate over a double boiler or in the microwave, then set aside.
  6. Once the hazelnut butter is smooth, add the vanilla and salt, blending well.
  7. Gradually add the melted chocolate while blending until fully incorporated.
  8. Taste and adjust sweetness or salt if needed, then transfer to a jar.
