Ingredients

The sweet potatoes

  • 2 ½ pounds sweet potatoes

The sauce

  • cup maple syrup
  • cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ¼ cup butter cubes

The toppings

  • ½ cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Prepare the slow cooker by spraying it with cooking spray.
  2. Add the diced sweet potatoes to the slow cooker.
  3. Drizzle the maple syrup over the sweet potatoes.
  4. Sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and cayenne pepper over the potatoes and toss to coat.
  5. Dot the top with butter cubes.
  6. Cover and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours until the potatoes are tender.
  7. Stir well and transfer to a serving dish.
  8. Top with pecans and serve.
