Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and refrigerate the pie crust while preparing the filling and topping.
- In a large bowl, combine sliced apples with brown sugar, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt, stirring gently.
- In a medium bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt for the crumble, then drizzle melted butter over and mix until crumbly.
- Fill the chilled pie crust with the apple mixture, leaving excess liquid behind, and drizzle a bit of leftover liquid over the apples.
- Place the pie on a foil-lined baking sheet and spread the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, covering loosely with foil if the crust or crumble browns too quickly, until the filling is bubbling and the crust is browned.
- Allow the pie to cool to room temperature before serving.
