Instructions
- Prepare the pie crust according to your recipe up to step 5.
- Mix the apple filling ingredients in a bowl and set aside to release juices.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C).
- Roll out the chilled pie dough and place it in a 9-inch pie dish.
- Fill the crust with the apple mixture, leaving some liquid behind.
- Make the crumble topping by mixing the ingredients until crumbly, then sprinkle over the apples.
- Bake the pie for 20 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 375°F (190°C) and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes.
- Let the pie cool for 3 hours before serving, and serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.
