Instant Pot Honey Garlic Chicken

Ingredients

The chicken

  • lbs. chicken thighs
  • to taste salt
  • to taste ground black pepper
  • tablespoons cooking oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon sugar or brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons water or chicken broth
  • 3 dashes cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper and set aside.
  2. Mix all the ingredients for the Honey Garlic Sauce together until well combined.
  3. Turn on the Saute mode on your Instant Pot and heat it up, then add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil.
  4. Pan-sear the chicken thighs skin side down until both sides are nicely browned.
  5. Add the remaining ½ tablespoon of oil and the minced garlic to the pot, sauté briefly.
  6. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken, cover the lid, and set to High pressure for 10 minutes.
  7. Once cooking is complete, perform a Quick Release, then carefully remove the lid, add chopped parsley, and serve.
