Vegan Oyster Sauce

Instructions
- Soak dried shiitake mushrooms in boiling water for 30 minutes.
- Remove woody stems and add the mushrooms and soaking water to a blender with brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, ginger powder, and 5 spice powder; blend until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into a saucepan and bring to a boil while stirring.
- Mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water and whisk into the boiling mixture until thick and glossy.
- Whisk in miso at the end of cooking to preserve its probiotic properties.
