Ingredients

  • 0.5 ounce dried shiitake mushrooms
  • ¼ cup dried dulse seaweed
  • ¼ cup Diamond Crystal kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons coconut aminos
  • 3 cups water

Instructions

  1. Break the dried shiitake mushrooms into small pieces and place them in a saucepan.
  2. Add the dulse, salt, coconut aminos, and water to the saucepan.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve, discarding the solids.
  5. Cool the sauce to room temperature and transfer it to an airtight container.
