Ingredients

The meatballs

  • 1 lb raw 99% lean ground turkey breast
  • cup panko crumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced/chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground allspice
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

The gravy

  • 3 tablespoons light butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 ½ cups reduced sodium beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon Better Than Bouillon Beef Base
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ cup fat free sour cream

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground turkey, panko, egg, dried onion, parsley, salt, nutmeg, allspice, garlic powder, and pepper in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Form the mixture into 12 meatballs.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the meatballs for 8 minutes, flipping occasionally.
  4. Cover the skillet and reduce heat to medium-low, cooking for an additional 2-4 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Remove the meatballs and keep warm under foil.
  6. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium-low heat, then whisk in the flour until combined.
  7. Gradually whisk in the beef broth, then add Worcestershire sauce, mustard, bouillon, parsley, and paprika.
  8. Bring the sauce to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until thickened.
  9. Stir in the sour cream until smooth, then return the meatballs to the sauce and heat through.
