Ingredients

Marinade

  • 2 teaspoons liquid smoke
  • 2 tablespoons BBQ Rub or McCormick's Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Brisket

  • 2-3 pounds brisket
  • ½ cup sliced onions
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • ½ cup broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Marinate the brisket with liquid smoke, BBQ rub, salt, and pepper for 2 hours to overnight.
  2. Add sliced onions, garlic, broth, liquid smoke, and soy sauce to the Instant Pot.
  3. Place the brisket in the pot with the fat cap side up.
  4. Seal the pot and cook on high pressure for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  5. Allow the steam to release naturally for 15 minutes before opening the pot.
  6. Remove the brisket and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  7. Slice against the grain and drizzle with BBQ sauce if desired.
