Ingredients

The scones

  • 2 ½ cups almond flour
  • cup low carb brown sugar, packed
  • 2 oz 90% chocolate, chopped into chunks
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon maple extract
  • ½ teaspoon stevia glycerite

The glaze

  • 0.75 oz 90% chocolate, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Chop the chocolate into chunks.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix the dry ingredients together to break up lumps.
  4. Melt the butter in a microwave and then mix in the eggs, vanilla, maple extract, and stevia.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients using a spoon or spatula until blended.
  6. Transfer the dough onto the prepared sheet pan and shape it into a rectangle about ½ inch thick.
  7. Cut the rectangle into 12 pieces and place them on the parchment.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes until done, then cool on a rack.
  9. For the glaze, melt butter, cream, and chocolate in a microwave, stirring until smooth, then drizzle over cooled scones.
