Parmesan Rosemary Popcorn

Ingredients

The popcorn

  • cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup popcorn kernels

The flavoring

  • cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary
  • to taste salt
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat ⅓ cup of vegetable oil in a 2-gallon pot over medium heat.
  2. Measure 1 cup of popcorn kernels, grate ⅓ cup of Parmesan cheese, and chop 1 tablespoon of fresh rosemary.
  3. Test the oil by adding a kernel; if it pops, add all the popcorn and cover.
  4. Once popping starts, quickly add the rosemary and cover again for 5 minutes until popping slows.
  5. Remove from heat and add Parmesan, salt, and pepper. Toss and serve immediately.
