Ingredients

The popcorn

  • 3–4 Tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ cup jumbo popcorn kernels

The toppings

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large metal stockpot over medium-high heat.
  2. Add a few popcorn kernels to the pot and cover it.
  3. Once the kernels pop, add the rest of the popcorn in a single layer and cover the pot.
  4. Shake the pot to coat the kernels with oil.
  5. Shake the pot every 15 seconds as the popcorn pops to prevent burning.
  6. When popping slows, pour the popcorn into a large bowl.
  7. Sprinkle with Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and salt, then toss to combine.
  8. For better coating, transfer popcorn and toppings to a large container and shake well.
