Chocolate Walnut Torte

Ingredients

  • 5 large eggs, separated
  • ½ cup agave nectar or honey
  • ½ teaspoon celtic sea salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 cups walnuts

Instructions

  1. 1. Pulse the chocolate in a food processor until coarse.
  2. 2. Briefly pulse in the walnuts until coarsely chopped.
  3. 3. In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks until pale, then gradually mix in the agave.
  4. 4. In another bowl, beat the egg whites to stiff peaks and mix in the salt.
  5. 5. Fold the chocolate-walnut mixture into the egg yolk mixture.
  6. 6. Gently fold the egg whites into the combined mixture.
  7. 7. Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch springform pan.
  8. 8. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes, then turn off the oven and leave for an additional 10 minutes.
  9. 9. Cool in the pan before serving.
