The coating

Instructions
- Melt butter in a frying pan over medium-low heat and add pecans.
- Pour in honey and cook until nuts are slightly browned, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Blend the cooked pecans with dates and cocoa in a food processor, adding water as needed to help the mixture stick together.
- For tortes, flatten the mixture into a ½ inch thick piece and cut out circular shapes.
- For truffles, roll the mixture into balls and coat with coconut flakes if desired.
