Instructions
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, beat the butter and sugar until creamy, then add the egg, vanilla, and almond extract.
- Mix in the dry ingredients until combined, adding more flour if the dough is too sticky.
- Divide the dough into two pieces and roll each out to about ¼ inch thick.
- Chill the rolled-out dough for at least 1-2 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cut the chilled dough into shapes and place them on the baking sheets.
- Bake for 11-12 minutes until lightly browned around the edges.
- Cool the cookies on a wire rack before decorating.
