Instructions
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Cream the butter and sugar in a stand mixer until light and fluffy, then add the egg and mix well.
- Mix in the vanilla and almond extracts, then gradually add the dry ingredients until combined.
- Divide the dough in half, shape into balls, flatten into disks, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Roll out the dough to ¼-inch thick, cut shapes with cookie cutters, and transfer to the baking sheets.
- Bake one sheet at a time for 9 to 11 minutes until edges are golden.
- Cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Decorate as desired once cooled.
