Classic Sugar Cookie

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Cream the softened butter and sugar together in a stand mixer until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix on low speed.
- Gradually incorporate the flour mixture into the creamed butter, mixing until just combined.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and gently roll them in sugar.
- Place the sugared dough balls on a baking sheet, spaced 2 inches apart.
- Flatten each dough ball to about ½ inch thick using the bottom of a drinking glass.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the centers are just set.
- Cool the cookies on wire racks.
