Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 can (15 oz.) cooked lentils (about 1 ½ cups, drained & rinsed)
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the ground beef, drained lentils, salt, onion powder, and garlic powder, and pulse until mixed but not pureed.
  2. Use a 1/3 cup measure to scoop the mixture, roll it into a ball, and flatten it into patties about ½ inch thick.
  3. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and spray with cooking oil, then add the patties, seasoning with salt if desired.
  4. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes until the edges brown, then flip and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes until done.
  5. Serve warm with your favorite toppings, buns, or lettuce wraps.
