Ingredients

The dip

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 15 ounce can chickpeas
  • 4 ounces Neufchatel cream cheese
  • cup buffalo sauce
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • kosher salt to taste
  • 1 rib celery
  • ½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

For serving

  • crackers and vegetables (such as celery, peppers, cucumbers)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Melt butter in a small skillet and sauté minced garlic until golden.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine chickpeas, cream cheese, buffalo sauce, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
  4. Mash the chickpeas until about ¾ are broken down, leaving some whole for texture.
  5. Fold in diced celery and transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  6. Top with shredded cheese and bake for 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  7. Serve hot with crackers and vegetables.
